Memory serves as the known object, while mind acts as the thinker and knower. Both memory and thinker share the nature of impermanence. The root of Dukkha (suffering) lies in the attachment to the five aggregates (form, feeling, perception, mental formations, consciousness). Mind serves as the presenter and creator, where arising greed or anger are perceived objects rather than me, myself.
